Almost any calendar application works

Almost all applications work fine. In order to use WebCal.fi calendars, your calendar application must

• support iCalendar (.ics) files
• download them automatically

The list below contains only applications which have been tested to work or not to work. There are lots of calendar applications outside the list, which work just fine.

If you use an application not on the list, please send feedback to aapo.puskala@webcal.fi on whether or not it works with WebCal.

Mac
Apple iCal	Works	Remember to set auto-refresh to 'Every week'. For Mac OSX 10.7 Lion this is no longer necessary. iCal on the Lion works right away.
Thunderbird Lightning	Works	If the subscriptions do not work, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.
Mozilla Sunbird	Works	If the subscriptions do not work, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.
Microsoft Entourage	Does not work	Entourage does not support Web calendars. I recommend using iCal.
Microsoft Outlook	Does not work	Outlook does not support Web calendars. I recommend using iCal.
Windows
Microsoft Outlook	Works	Outlook 2003 requires plugins. Newer versions work without modifications.
Microsoft Works	Does not work	MS Works 9 supports iCalendar file format, but does not download them from the web.
Windows Calendar	Works
Novell Groupwise	Works	Tested with version 8.x
Thunderbird Lightning	Works	If the subscriptions do not work, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.
Mozilla Sunbird	Works	If the subscriptions do not work, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.
VueMinder	Works	Supports webcals fully since version 8.1.
Rainlendar Pro	Works	Railendar Lite does not support web calendars. If the subscriptions do not work in the Pro version, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.
Linux
Thunderbird Lightning	Works	If the subscriptions do not work, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.
Mozilla Sunbird	Works	If the subscriptions do not work, change webcal:// to http:// in the beginning of the subscription address.

Google Calendar	Works	You must manually copy the calendar address from the address list to Google Calendar. There is also a subscription button in the calendar address list.
Windows Live Calendar	Works	You must manually copy the calendar address from the address list to Windows Live Calendar.
Mobile devices
Apple iPhone	Works
Apple iPad	Works
Apple iPod Touch	Works
Nokia mobile phones	Most work	New smart phones can use calendars directly from WebCal.fi. Older phones can use the calendars by subscribing them to a calendar application and then synchronizing them with Nokia PC Suite. Or, you can subscribe the calendars to Google Calendar ja synchrionize them to the phone with Goosync.
Android phones	Work partially	Android phones do not support webcals. However, you can subscribe the calendars to Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar and then synchronize Google Calendar with Android
Blackberry	Work partially	Blackberry phones do not support webcals. However, you can subscribe the calendars to Google Calendar and then synchronize calendars to your Blackberry with Google Sync.
Windows Mobile	Work partially	Subscribe the calendars to Google Calendar and then synchronize calendars to your Windows Mobile with Google Sync. Probably synchronizing through Outlook works as well.
